Media@UU直播 invites you to the following event: Citizen Media Rendez-vous

Today's media landscape is in turmoil: traditional mass media companies have become vulnerable due to falling advertising dollars, dwindling readership and difficulties adapting to new media. At the same time, citizen and independent media are facing a golden opportunity to assert themselves through online and social networking technologies.聽Nonetheless, independent and citizen media continue to face challenges in creating content, developing platforms, building audience and securing financing for their work.

During the first block of the event, four experts will present on the theme:聽V茅ronique Marino (INIS),聽Geraldine Cahill (The Real News Network),聽David Beers (The Tyee), and聽Laurent Mauriac (Rue 89). In addition, in the second bloc, case studies will be presented by:聽Paulina Abarca-Cantin & St茅phanie Lagueux: Studio XX,聽Wayne MacPhail: Rabble.ca, and聽Reisa Levine & V茅ronique Mal茅fant: CitizenShift/Parole citoyenne.
