New Digital collection: Marjorie Howard Futcher Photo Collection
The site contains close to one thousand images from two photo albums dating from 1890 to 1910 by Marjorie Howard Futcher (1882-1969), daughter of the former Dean of the Faculty of Medicine R. Palmer Howard.听 听It includes photographs of medical people, including Sir William Osler and In Flanders Fields author John McCrae, as well as documenting the life of a young, well-connected Montreal woman during the period.听 It thus provides an insight into the intersection of the worlds of elite medicine and wealth.
The site includes two virtual photo albums, replicating the experience of viewing the originals and also seeing each picture in its larger context.
