Effie Dracopoulos has been engaged in academia at UU直播鈥檚 School of Continuing Studies for the last thirty years. During this time, she has served as Course Lecturer, Faculty Lecturer, Academic Program Coordinator, Associate Director, and Interim Director of the Language & Intercultural Communication (LIC) unit. She has also served as Senior Academic Partnerships Advisor in Faculty Partnerships and Summer Studies (FPSS), and as Program Lead and Academic Program Coordinator for STEM programs in the Adaptive and Integrated Learning (AIL) domain, the Indigenous Relations Initiative (IRI), and more recently in the Technology & Innovation domain (T&I). She teaches Experiential Service Learning as well as听Intercultural Communication and Civic Engagement through Service Learning offered by听the Global and Strategic Communication (GSC) domain. Currently part of the Dean's Office and reporting to the Associate Dean, Academic Planning and Programs, she oversees听the academic coordination as well as partnership relations for Semester @ UU直播, Summer/Winter Short programs, Interdisciplinary 6+6, and Exploring the World of STEM. 听As part of her current mandate, Effie provides the leadership teams with support and advice on matters of international student mobility, recruitment, and partnerships for non-credit short programs, special initiatives, and summer studies. She is also responsible for the continued nurturing and growth of existing international partnerships and collaborations as well as the development of new ones.

Throughout the years, Effie has conceived and overseen the design, development and delivery of over a dozen programs under her purview. These include the award-winning 惭肠骋颈濒濒听Certificate of Proficiency - English for Professional Communication and the Professional Development Certificates in听English for Healthcare, English for Social Services, and English for Frontline Healthcare Administration听 delivered to over 10,000 healthcare professionals across Qu茅bec through the Health Canada sponsored "Anglais Sant茅" project. She has developed specialized ESL teacher training/support programs, such as the Certificate in TESOL and Skills Upgrade for Teachers, for both off and on campus delivery to university professors in/from Mexico, and in collaboration with local school boards, to elementary and secondary school teachers from South Korea, China, and Saudi Arabia. She has also created study abroad programs that include Internship and Service Learning components, such as Semester@UU直播, for international students.听

Her academic interests and professional experience include the conception, design and development of academic, professional, and specific-purposes courses and programs, including on and off-campus customized programs for international educational partners, local and international government agencies, and First Nations communities; academic quality assurance; e-learning/distance learning; experiential learning, including service learning and internships.

Learner-centered and service-oriented, Effie strives to continually provide the best learning experience to her students and the best collaboration experience to her local, regional and international partners.
