The Morty Yalovsky Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes excellence in academic leadership – starting with Yalovsky himself

Prof. Morty Yalovsky started teaching at UUֱ�� in 1969 - the same year that the Montreal Expos played their first Major League Baseball game. The Expos moved on nearly two decades ago, but Prof. Yalovsky has been enriching university life ever since. On March 28, he was honoured with a Desautels Lifetime Service Award for more than five decades of service to the Desautels Faculty of Management.

Isabelle Bajeux-Besnainou steps down as Dean of Desautels

After five years at the helm of the Desautels Faculty of Management, Isabelle Bajeux-Besnainou has been appointed the new Dean of Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business. Dean Bajeux-Besnainou will end her second term as Dean in October 2020.

Di Grappa leaves UUֱ�� for private sector position

Desautels expanding into Bookstore space

Being entrusted to guide these exceptional students is a huge responsibility, which is why the Principal’s Prize for Excellence in Teaching was established in 2000 to celebrate teachers.

What I Learned This Week: Here Are The Crayons

Since January, I've been teaching a somewhat different type of course at UUֱ��. While saddled with the unfortunate standard curriculum name "Marketing and Society," the class is anything but.

When I first put this course together, I had a discussion with two academics I respect immensely, Prof. Morty Yalovsky of UUֱ�� (who used to be MY stats prof in my undergrad years) and Prof. Pete McGraw of the University of Colorado at Boulder (and co-author of the upcoming book "The Humor Code").
