Congratulations to KPE鈥檚 Chrissy Colizza for winning 3 awards highlighting her academic and athletic excellence!

Congratulations to Chrissy Colizza, 2nd year MA candidate (Supervisor: Dr. Gordon Bloom) for winning the Jean Beliveau Award, the Qu茅bec Foundation for Athlete Excellence Leadership Award, and the Dorothy Nichol Scholarship.

The 聽recognizes outstanding UU直播 student-athletes who have demonstrated academic achievement and leadership in student and/or community affairs. These Athletic Financial Awards were established in 2016 to honour the memory of the Montr茅al Canadians captain and inspirational community leader who passed away on December 2nd, 2014.

The is presented to student-athletes demonstrating extraordinary athletic potential and having obtained exceptional sports results, having demonstrated leadership skills, more particularly the ability to lead and motivate others. The criteria include: 1) involvement in the community beyond his/her involvement in his/her sport and; 2) having maintained an academic average of 80% at the secondary level, an R score of 27 at the college level or 3.2 out of 4.3 (or the equivalent) at the university level. Chrissy was presented with this award at the Maison du Loisir et du Sport du Qu茅bec on December 6th, 2022.

The is awarded to an individual with high academic standing and contribution to athletes. This scholarship established in 2000 by Dorothy Nichol, B.Sc. (P.E.), who was a student leader, women鈥檚 basketball coach from 1949 to 1952, Professor in the Faculty of Education from 1952-1989 and Director of Women鈥檚 Athletics at Macdonald College from 1955 to 1970. This award was presented to Chrissy at the Martlet Foundation Luncheon on December 8th, 2022.
