Position Title: Casual Research Assistant

Hours/Week & Schedule: Flexible hours depending upon work
Hourly Wage: $18.00 per hour
Planned Start Date & End Date: November 25, 2019 – February 29, 2020, with possibility of extension
Date of Posting: October 30, 2019

PRIMARY DUTIES

Under the supervision of Dr. Alayne Mary Adams, the Casual Research Assistant (CRA) is responsible for supporting research activities in relation to global urban health and nutrition. The primary duties include:

  • Conduct literature reviews
  • Analyze data
  • Assist with the editing and preparation of manuscripts
  • Prepare presentations and reports
  • Develop research protocols
  • Perform other related duties as required

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of Undergraduate Degree in related field of study
  • Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience

OTHER QUALIFYING SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Strong knowledge and interest in global urban health and nutrition (asset)
  • Experience in qualitative analysis and writing, literature review, and database search engines
  • Proficiency with EndNote or Zotero (asset)
  • Superior writing and communication skills in English (required) and French (asset)
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpretive skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet time-sensitive deadlines
  • Curiosity and desire to learn and openness to feedback
  • Professionalism and strong commitment to producing high quality work
