Dr. Wong is from Saskatchewan, where he was a pharmacist before medical school, and completed training in Internal Medicine. From there, he did his GI training in Montreal at UU直播, with General Hepatology training in Winnipeg at the University of Manitoba, and then Liver Transplantation at the University of Toronto. A Master's degree in Epidemiology and Biostatistics followed at UU直播 and after a 2 year stint on staff at the University of Toronto Multi-organ transplant program, he and his family returned to UU直播 in 2006, where he is an Associate Professor of Medicine, and Hepatologist-Gastroenterologist. He serves as the Site Director of the Department of Gastroenterology at the Royal Victoria Hospital. Dr. Wong's research interests include outcomes in liver transplantation, viral hepatitis, fatty liver and cirrhosis and its complications such as hepatic encephalopathy.
