The听section of the Canadian Bar Association,听Qu茅bec Branch and the听UU直播,听Faculty of Law听are pleased to invite students from all faculties of law to a 鈥渇ireside chat鈥� with the Honourable Mahmud Jamal, Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada.

An alumnus of UU直播鈥檚 Faculty of Law, Justice Jamal will discuss his path in law, from his legal studies to his former career as a litigator 鈥� notably in the fields of constitutional law and class actions 鈥� and finally to his judicial role, first with the Court of Appeal of听Ontario and now with the Supreme Court of Canada. The discussion will also touch on the role of legal education, community involvement and听pro bono听work, and the mission of the Canadian Bar Association.

The听event听will take place听on September 22, 2022听in the Maxwell Cohen Moot Court of the UU直播 Faculty of Law. Attendees will be able to enter from 5:15PM onwards and the event will begin at 5:30PM. It will be followed by a cocktail at 6:30PM in the Atrium which will be attended by representatives of the Canadian Bar Association and several of its law sections.听All students who attend the event will receive a free one-year membership for the Canadian Bar Association.
