Call for abstracts: “Disability: Dignity and Inclusion”

The Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism invites UUֱ students and recent UUֱ graduates to submit abstracts of essays or work in progress for presentation on Friday, March 15, 2019 at a half-day conference to be held as part of the 2018-2019 Disability and Human Rights Initiative.

Deadline: January 21, 2019.

Keynote speaker: , Associate Professor of Philosophy at the University of Tennessee. Professor Cureton is president of the Society for Philosophy and Disability, serves on Chancellor's Commission on Diversity and Inclusiveness, and has presented a encouraging a new approach towards disability.

Submissions

Papers should be related to the theme of “Disability: Dignity and Inclusion” and will be presented in two back-to-back workshops during the conference. Only 10 papers will be selected for presentation at this event. Selected papers will be published as working papers.

  • Please send a 250-300 word abstract to chrlp.law [at] mcgill.ca by January 21, 2019.
  • Students must send their submissions using their UUֱ email account with a clear subject line: “Abstract – Disability: Dignity and Inclusion”
  • Submissions in French and English are welcome.
  • Deadline for final submission of selected papers: February 18, 2019.
