Changes to e-resource access: Classic Catalogue, eResearch Gateway, Google Scholar
Today (June 9) we implemented a number of changes that affect how the Library鈥檚 e-resources are accessed by the UU直播 Community.
- E-resources have been removed from the Classic Catalogue
- eResearch Gateway has been retired
- Changes to Google Scholar settings to find UU直播 e-resources
E-resources have been removed from the Classic Catalogue
E-resources, such as e-journals, e-books, and databases, have been removed from the . You can continue to access all of our e-resources through .
WorldCat allows the Library to make our full collection of e-resources available with far greater efficiency and reliability than what was possible with the Classic Catalogue.
Note: Some free online journal collections that were previously available through the Classic Catalogue, including some foreign language titles, are still being reviewed to add to WorldCat Local. These free titles are of course still available through Google, Bing, and other public search engines.
Here are a few more details on how this change will impact the Classic Catalogue and its various sub-catalogues:
- The following sub-catalogues related to e-resources will be removed: e-books, e-journals, e-resources, open access resources
- E-resources will be removed from the following sub-catalogues: full, audio-visual and journal titles
- The will not be affected by this change, and will still contain both print and electronic materials.
- eExams will not be affected by this change, and will continue to be available as they were before.
- will still display e-resources on reserve for UU直播 courses.

eResearch Gateway has been retired
The eResearch Gateway provided alternate ways of searching for articles, databases, and other electronic resources. This functionality is now provided for the most part by and the Library's subject guides.
Changes to Google Scholar settings to find UU直播 e-resources
We鈥檝e migrated our link resolver service to OCLC's WorldCat Link Resolver service. A link resolver helps you to locate a copy of articles that you find in WorldCat, in databases, or in Google Scholar.
If you use Google Scholar to search for articles, you will need to update your settings to use the new WorldCat Link Resolver to access articles that are available through the Library.
