PhD 聽Oral Defense of Jiby Kudakasseril Kurian,聽Bioresouce Engineering

The production system of biofuels and biomaterials in the聽centralized biorefineries is challenged not only by the low bulk density聽material but also due to its variation in the availability and composition聽of the lignocellulosic part. Hence, on-farm production of denser and聽uniform material for the biorefinery operations is tne of the solutions to聽address the aforementioned challenge. Under this circumstance, this聽study investigated the potential of steam-assisted and microwaveassisted聽treatments for the on-farm processing of lignocellulosic聽materials.
