CAMILLE THURMAN

Acclaimed by Downbeat Magazine as a "rising star"singer with “soulful inflection and remarkable, Fitzgerald-esquescat prowess” and hailed by All About Jazz as a “first class saxophonistthat blows the proverbial roof of the place”,Camille Thurmanhas been amazing audiences throughout the world with her impeccable sound, remarkable vocal virtuosity and captivating artistry. Many have praised her vocal abilities to the likeness of Ella Fitzgerald and Betty Carter. Her lush, rich & warm sound on the tenor saxophone has led others to compare her to tenor greats Joe Henderson and Dexter Gordon.

An accomplished performer and composer, Camille has worked with notable Jazz and R&B icons such as George Coleman, Roy Haynes, Dianne Reeves,Wynton Marsalis & the JazzAtLincoln Center Orchestra, Dr. Lonnie Smith, TerriLyneCarrington, Jon Hendricks, Pattie LaBelle, Gladys Knight, Chaka Khan, Louis Hayes, Russell Malone, Nicholas Payton, JackyTerrason, Alicia Keys, Lalah Hathaway, Jill Scott and Erykah Badu among others. Career highlights for Camille include performing as a featured guest vocalist for“Ella at 100: ForeverTheFirst Lady of Song”centennial tribute to Ella Fitzgerald and as a featured guest saxophonist in 2021for“JOHN COLTRANE: A Love Supreme” at JazzAtLincoln Center.

Camille was a recipient of theMartin E. Segal –Lincoln Center Award for Outstanding Young Artistsand a runner up in the 2013Sarah Vaughan International Vocal Competition. She was a two-timeaward winningrecipient of theASCAP Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composers Awardand a winner of the Fulbright Scholars Cultural Ambassador Grant to Nicaragua and Paraguay. Her compositions were featured and performed by her quartet in theASCAP/ Kennedy Center "Songwriters: The Next Generation"showcase. She was the first woman in 30 years to tour and perform full time internationally with the world ren own JazzAtLincoln Center Orchestra as a saxophonist/woodwindist (2018-2020) Camillehas earned accolades from the media including JazzTimes Magazine, Downbeat Magazine, NPR, The New York Times and Jazz NightInAmerica.As a leader, she has released four records—Origins,Spirit Child(Hot Tone Music),InsideTheMoment(Chesky Records 2017) and “WaitingForTheSunrise” (Chesky Records 2018).

DARRELL GREEN

Innovative master drummer,Darrell Greenis one of the leading, most sought after musicians on today’s jazz scene. As a prolific sideman, bandleader, educator, clinician, composer and producer, Darrell developed his mastery in the heart of Oakland, California.

He developed a style rooted in modern post-bop, butretains elements of his gospel and classical lineage. Though jazz is his primary focus, Green is conversant in every genre from straight-ahead jazz to Latin and West African music.

Green has toured and recorded with notable jazz artists Cassandra Wilson, Pharoah Sanders, Benny Golson, Buster Williams, Mary Stallings, Russell Malone, Houston Person, Dr. Lonnie Smith, Antoine Roney, Charles Tolliver, Marlena Shaw, Sherman Irby, SteveTurre, Wallace Roney, Stefon Harris, Red Holloway, Faye Carol. He also co-leads a collaborative project with vocalist and saxophonist Camille Thurman.
