Bassoons, Elvis, and the Vir茅e Classique

As part of the 6th annual by the聽Orchestre symphonique de Montr茅al (OSM) on August 12, 2017,聽Schulich School of Music bassoon faculty members St茅phane聽L茅vesque and Martin Mangrum took part in the world premiere of Simon Leclerc's聽'Concerto Grosso for Five Bassoons, Contrabassoon, Strings聽and Timpani', along with OSM bassoon colleagues聽and guest bassoonist聽Carlo Colombo of the Lyon Opera Orchestra. Later that聽day St茅phane also performed Michael Daugherty's 'Dead Elvis' for聽bassoon and chamber ensemble - in a full Elvis costume! - as well聽as the Canadian premiere of Gernot Wolfgang's 'Encounters' for聽violin and bassoon. 聽
