Brent Proseus, trumpet, winner of the UU直播 Concerto Competiton.
Brent Proseus, a student of Professor Richard Stoelzel, Brass Area Chair, has been named听winner of the 2016 Schulich School of Music Woodwinds, Brass, and Percussion competition. 听Brent鈥檚 first听trumpet teacher was his father, Eric and he听听continued his听studies with Gregg Good. Brent was principal trumpet in听the Michigan Junior High All-State Band and he was principal trumpet in the Michigan All-state Orchestra as well as the lead trumpet in the Michigan All-State Jazz Band. He won a featured soloist award at the Michigan Youth Arts All-State Competition and performend with that orchestra at their听gala concert. 听Besides classical trumpet honors, Brent has also won many awards in jazz, including the Hastings Jazz Festival soloist award and the Western Michigan University Jazz Festival lead trumpet and soloist awards. 听He will perform next season with the UU直播 Symphony Orchestra. 听
