After a doctoral degree in veterinary medicine and 1-year term as teaching assistant at the department of microbiology and infectious diseases (Senegal), Amédé Gogovor completed postgraduate diplomas in Epidemiology from Pasteur Institute/ENV Alfort and in biostatistics-epidemiological research from Université Paris-Sud (France). Amédé worked with the Division of Epidemiology and the Polio National Immunization Committee and their Partners including WHO, UNICEF and Rotary International, during three Anti-polio National Immunization Days campaigns in Togo. In 2005, he completed a Masters in pharmaceutical sciences, with majors in pharmacoepidemiology and pharmacoeconomics from the Université de Montréal (including an internship at sanofi-aventis Health Economics and Health Outcomes Unit) and then joined the Health management research group (Groupe de Recherche en Gestion Thérapeutique) as research project coordinator and secretary of the scientific committee. Amede is currently assistant researcher and a PhD candidate under the supervision of Dr. Sara Ahmed. Amédé’s current research activities include effectiveness of chronic disease management programs, medication adherence and use of health information technologies by chronic disease patients, knowledge synthesis and translation, global health.
