BIO:
I am a professor in the Institute for the History and Philosophy of Science and Technology at the University of Toronto. I have a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Valencia, Spain, and A Ph.D. in history of science from Harvard University, USA. I have worked on the history of genetics, animal behavior, attachment theory, and autism.
In 2013, I published: The Nature and Nurture of Love: From Imprinting to Attachment in Cold War America. Chicago: University of Chicago Press. Other recent publications include 鈥淓thopathology and Civilization Diseases: Niko and Elisabeth Tinbergen on Autism.鈥� Canadian Bulletin of Medical History 35 (1): 1-31, 2018, and 鈥淧utting Attachment in its Place: Disciplinary and Cultural Contexts,鈥� European Journal of Developmental Psychology 14 (6): 684-699, 2017. My recent book is entitled: Intelligent Love: The Story of Clara Park, her Autistic Daughter, and the Myth of the Refrigerator Mother. Boston: Beacon Press (March 2021).
