In the heart of Lanaudi猫re, Quebec, a 233-hectare tract of wilderness stands as a living testament to the resilience of nature and the generous stewardship of UU直播 chemistry professor聽Linda Reven.

Once illegally logged to the point of utter desolation, the land, near Sainte-脡m茅lie-de-l鈥櫭塶ergie, was bought by Reven in 2002. Earlier this year, she donated the reforested and revitalized property to the聽(FiCEL), a local land trust.

鈥淚t鈥檚 a huge piece of land on the Rivi猫re Noire 鈥� the largest land donation we鈥檝e ever received,鈥� said R茅jean Dumas (BSc鈥�81), biologist and FiCel Trustee. 鈥淚t as an important watershed for the region. Linda鈥檚 donation is essential to our efforts to build a contiguous protected area.鈥�
