"Stability as a feature of motor control: New perspectives for neurorehab"

Dr. Piscitelli is completing his work with Dr. Mindy Levin (See abstract/bio below).

Abstract

One of the main problems in the field of neurorehabilitation is a lack of knowledge about the best type of treatment to enhance motor recovery. Although there are several approaches in neurorehabilitation aimed at improving motor and function outcomes after central nervous system (CNS) lesions, there is still a gap between theories of motor control and clinical听research. In particular, knowledge about underlying deficits in the control of higher-order motor control skills (coordination, stability, dexterity) due to CNS damage may inform treatment programs aimed at enhancing recovery of specific motor elements involved in complex actions such as reaching or postural control.听

Bio

In 2007, Daniele completed a B.Sc. in Physiotherapy (Universit脿 degli Studi dell'Insubria, ITA).听He then obtained a M.Sc. degree in Health and Rehabilitation Science (University of Florence, ITA). In 2014, he was awarded a scholarship for the Neuroscience Doctoral program at the University of Milano-Bicocca, ITA. In April 2017, he received his Ph.D. degree.听 Since September 2017, he is Post-Doc Fellow at UU直播 under the directorship of Dr. Mindy F. Levin.
