John Feddes, Professor Emeritus, University of Alberta. His research interests are in livestock confinement: worker health, animal welfare, air quality and, more recently, odour measurement. He is working with colleagues at IRDA Quebec to reduce the offensiveness of odour from air exhausted from swine confinement facilities. He is also one of the organizers of an odour index workshop in February. Measuring odour to include both intensity and character using the nose as a sensor has been a challenge to many odour researchers.
