La production de Die Zauberflöte d’Opéra UUֱ a récemment été saluée par le journaliste Daniel Raymond dans sa critique sur le site atuvu.ca. Une grande partie des membres de la production, tant sur scène que dans les coulisses, ont été félicités pour le succès remarquable de l’opéra, en passant par le directeur artistique Patrick Hansen et la metteuse en scène Jessica Derventzis, à Vincent Lefèvre (décors), Florence Cornet (maquillages) et Ginette Grenier (costumes), qui ont tous contribué à donner vie au concept unique de steampunk de l’opéra.

In honour of his passing on October 31, 2018, the family is planning a remembrance on February 17, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. (Evensong service) at Christ Church Cathedral (635 Saint-Catherine St. W.). At the request of the family, donations may be made in his name to St. Mary’s Hospital Cancer Care Fund.

ʰǴڱǰ has been appointed as the new Interim Music Director of the ! In a recent email exchange, Prof. Stoelzel writes, "I have had the pleasure of conducting the LCB as a guest conductor in numerous rehearsals and in concert. I am now thrilled to be appointed their interim music director. It is an honour to work with this terrific group of musicians in this new capacity and to continue to be a part of the legacy of the Lakeshore Concert Band."

In a review of Opera UUֱ's production of Mozart's پܲܲڱöٱ(The Magic Flute),  praised the costumes, the projections and the performances of the cast. Congratulations to all of those involved!

Despite being one of Canada’s most prolific composers in the twentieth century, Eldon Rathburn (LMus 1937) still remains somewhat unknown. Over the course of his 75-year musical career, Rathburn churned out hundreds of remarkable film scores that provided the soundtrack for a wide variety of productions, in addition to many orchestral and chamber pieces. With such an extensive catalogue of noteworthy works, Rathburn certainly deserves a prominent place in the Canadian musical canon.
