Title: Morse functions on the moduli space of hyperbolic surfaces
Abstract: In theory one can find a Morse function on the moduli space M_{g,n} of hyperbolic surfaces of genus g with n punctures, as Morse functions on a given manifold/orbifold are dense among all smooth functions. However, it may not be so easy to find a 鈥榥atural鈥� one.
This workshop will introduce the fundamental tool of Industry Analysis which companies use for strategy development. For startups, understanding the industry is a critical step in determining market entry and market positioning. The Five Forces Framework will be presented and applied to during an exercise.

Are you interested in the mysteries of our planet and beyond? UU直播 Physics Outreach and TSI Outreach present 鈥淔rom Planets to Particles: An Exploration Mini-Fair鈥�. Join us on Sat., September 28 between 10 pm to 4 pm in the Rutherford Physics Building on the UU直播 campus for hands-on activities and demos about everything from gravity, life on other planets, building telescopes, coding, and craters to volcanoes, identifying earth and space rocks, and minerals! If you have a cool rock you'd like us to identify, bring it with you. We'll also set up telescopes for some solar observing.
This workshop will provide an overview of the different types of market research, how to analyze the competition, and the resources available at UU直播 to perform market research. Our market research librarian Emily Jaeger-McEnroe will walk us through some of those resources using a market research canvas tool.
