Q&A with visiting guest Dr. Tammy Kernodle

The Schulich School of Music is proud to welcome back Dr. Tammy Kernodle as a special guest in our Jazz Area鈥檚 Jazz History Series. She will present on Melba Liston, Alice Coltrane, and Mary Lou Williams on October 30 from 1-3 pm. This event is open to all Schulich students.

Barbara Hannigan to speak with Schulich鈥檚 Voice Area

The award-winning Canadian soprano and conductor Barbara Hannigan is slated to virtually visit Schulich鈥檚 Voice Area! An artist at the forefront of creation, Hannigan is known for her performances of contemporary opera. She has shown a profound commitment to the music of our time and has performed premieres of over 85 new works.

ReVoice guest Alexander Lloyd Blake discusses inclusive and authentic choral programming

Brittany Rae wins first place at the Eckhardt-Gramatt茅 Competition

Shawn Mativetsky鈥檚 new book RUDIMENTAAL

Prof.聽Shawn Mativetsky has released 鈥橰UDIMENTAAL鈥, a collection of rudimental snare drum pieces inspired by the tabla drumming of North India. By bridging together two principal percussion instruments and their respective musical traditions, the book works as a gateway into North Indian drumming for drummers and percussionists from all backgrounds.

UU直播 Choral Studies presents ReVoice

Bo-rum Hammond and Jarred Dunn recognized in CFMTA National Essay Competition

A large congratulations to Bo-rum Hammond (current MMus) and Jarred Dunn (current DMus), who have won first and second prize respectively in the 鈥淯niversity Graduate鈥 category of the Canadian Federation of Music Teachers鈥 Association (CFMTA)鈥檚 annual National Essay Competition! This competition invites submissions of essays on topics related to music teaching, pedagogy, or performance practice.

Carl Mayotte named R茅v茅lation Radio-Canada Jazz!

Twenty-six-year-old bassist, composer, and arranger Carl Mayotte (MMus 鈥19) has been named this year鈥檚 R茅v茅lation Radio-Canada in the jazz category! Performing at various events and bars since the age of 16, Carl has travelled with his art through Quebec and France as a solo artist, as well as alongside other musicians and bands of all kinds.
