MIRANDA HICKMAN specializes in modernist literature at UUֱ, where she is Associate Professor of English. She is recipient of the Noel Fieldhouse Award for Distinguished Teaching for the Faculty of Arts and UUֱ’s Carrie M. Derick Award for Graduate Supervision and Teaching. New work engages the film criticism of Iris Barry and modernist poet H.D.’s feminist translations of Euripides; a coauthored essay on H.D. and Euripides appears in the Classical Receptions Journal (2018). The Classics in Modernist Translation, coedited with Lynn Kozak, appeared through Bloomsbury in 2019. Other recent work includes essays on critic Q.D. Leavis and archives, Ezra Pound’s late Cantos, Wyndham Lewis’s Self Condemned and Vorticist painters Jessie Dismorr and Helen Saunders. She is author of The Geometry of Modernism (2005), editor of One Must Not Go Altogether with the Tide: The Letters of Ezra Pound and Stanley Nott (2011); and co-editor of Rereading the New Criticism (2012). Her book in progress addresses “culture trouble” and the female public intellectual in interwar Britain.
