Information session (Dec. 6): Canada Biomedical Research Fund (CBRF) and Biosciences Research Infrastructure Fund (BRIF)

UUÖ±²¥ researchers and administrators are invited to attend an information session about the upcoming competition of the Stage 2 program. CBRF and BRIF fund research, training and infrastructure project in support of in collaboration with industry and public sector partners.

CBRF supports high-risk applied research, training, and talent development, as part of a suite of foundational investments to establish a resilient, robust domestic biomanufacturing sector in Canada.

BRIF addresses the bioscience research infrastructure needs of postsecondary institutions and strengthens their capacity to support pandemic preparedness and responses to emerging health threats.

The information session will include:

  • Overview of Canada’s Biomanufacturing and Life Sciences Strategy
  • CBRF-BRIF competition – Type of projects, application process, and available funding
  • Overview of the Eastern Canada Preparedness Hub – ECapH
  • Question-and-Answer period where participants can ask questions about the program or the application process

Speakers: Silvia Vidal, Professor, Department of Human Genetics, and Maria Vera Ugalde, Assistant Professor, Department of Biochemistry, will talk about the CBRF Stage 1 Hub proposal Eastern Canada Preparedness Hub – ECapH in which UUÖ±²¥ is a major partner.
