SSHRC Insight Grants

The purpose of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) is to provide stable support ranging from $7,000 to $400,000 for research excellence and long-term research initiatives of two to five years, for both emerging and established scholars in the social sciences and humanities.

Researchers who are planning to apply to the October 2023 SSHRC Insight Grants (IG) competition are encouraged to attend this information session, which will include:

  • A presentation about the SSHRC IG program objectives and application requirements, as well as UUֱ institutional support and timelines, including tips and tools to tailor your applications for success by Biljana Vasilevska and Helene Dragatsi, Grants and Agreements Officers, OSR;
  • Presentations from Matthew Lange (Professor, Department of Sociology) and Milica Miočević (Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology), former SSHRC IG holders and 2023 SSHRC merit review committee members, who will share information about the SSHRC IG evaluation and merit system and strategies for preparing a successful proposal.
