SP0061: Addressing Business Travel Behaviour

Status: COMPLETED January 2012 - April 2012

Transportation Research at UU直播 (TRAM) is presently researching the travel behaviour of UU直播 students, faculty and staff. This student-led initiative, in collaboration with the UU直播 Sustainability Office, is conducting a survey which aims to discover how the UU直播 community commutes to and from campus.

The survey, sent to a cross-section of community members, will provide a break-down of what transportation options are available to the community, which options people choose, and the motivation behind the transportation choices they make.

The TRAM team hopes the data collected from the survey will allow them to assess the environmental impact of travelling to the University, evaluate and anticipate the future transportation needs of community members, and help develop strategies to encourage the use of alternative means of transportation.

The project is led by Cynthia Jacques and Jacob Mason, Master of Urban Planning candidates, under the supervision of Ahmed El-Geneidy, Assistant Professor with the School of Urban Planning, Naveen Eluru and Marianne Hatzopoulou, Assistant Professors with the Department of Civil Engineering.
