Queer History Month aims to raise awareness, advance education, and increase visibility of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities by recognizing their history and contributions, building bridges, and bringing together UUÖ±²¥ students, staff, faculty, and alumni and community members within and beyond Montréal.

Queer History Month Peer Study Groups

Are you looking for a space to accomplish your study goals in a friendly environment, while also meeting peer members of UUÖ±²¥â€™s queer community? We invite you to join these closed peer study groups, open only to students who self-identify as part of the queer community. Drop by any of these sessions during October's Queer History Month and participate in whatever way works for you – no registration required! Snacks will also be provided!

Queer Button-making

Please join the Student Wellness Hub for Queer Button-making as part of UUÖ±²¥'s Queer History Month! Design and make buttons to show your pride. Connect with other 2SLGBTQIA+ community members. Meet members of the Hub's Pride Team. Get to know the Student Wellness Hub's wide offering of programming and services. All materials for button making will be provided. There will also be vegan snacks on offer. This event is open only to students who self-identify as members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ to help create a safe(r) space for students to meet the Wellness Hub team, learn about our services and supports, and make some buttons to show their pride!

Foster equitable and inclusive learning environments: Change one thing!

Want to make your classroom a more equitable and inclusive learning environment, but unsure where to start? Take part to pick one strategy to implement in your course, consider possible implementation challenges, and identify resources to address them. You can also share with and learn from other participants while considering varied strategies, ideas for accountability, and ways to stay connected!

Dr. mattie brice will present How Do We Already Change the World through Play?. mattie is an artist and designer working with contemporary social issues through play. She has been a culture worker within the games industry for over a decade as a critic, designer, activist, organizer, curator, and educator. This event is also part of the 7th Season of Disrupting Disruptions: the Feminist and Accessible Publishing and Communications Technologies Speaker and Workshop Series.
