Student Accessibility & Achievement

Formerly known as the office for Students with Disabilities (OSD), Student Accessibility & Achievement provides support services and reasonable accommodations to students with documented disabilities of either a permanent, temporary, or episodic nature.  

Examples of the SA&A supports available include exam accommodations, note-taking support, learning resources, peer-to-peer supports, and assistive technology.

International Student Services

International Student Services (ISS) supports international students at UUÖ±²¥. ISS aims to ease the transition of international graduate students to a new school, a new home, and a new country.   

UUÖ±²¥ Library

The UUÖ±²¥ Library & Archives is your place to find anything and everything you may need to support your academic work and research. Additionally, you may book quiet study spaces and access e-resources through the Library.

  • Your faculty is assisted by a Liaison Librarian, a subject-specific research expert dedicated to helping you find what you are looking for. Additionally, your Liaison Librarian has compiled a that can introduce you to the most relevant journals, databases, and other research materials for your field of study. 

  • UUÖ±²¥ Library also provides a wide-range of research-related workshops and seminars including making effective use of citation management software, developing introductory programming skills, and improving your research techniques as a graduate student. 

Tutorial Services

Tutorial Services provides student-centred academic supports to the UUÖ±²¥ community.

  • The Tutor Matching Program is a peer tutoring service that matches requests for academic assistance (for any course offered at UUÖ±²¥) with qualified tutors selected from their bank of private tutors. Tutorial Services offers thanks to partnerships with various units across UUÖ±²¥. 

  •  Tutorial Services also hosts a wide range of useful Learner Supports which are tools and resources covering online learning, time management, learning and memory, note-taking strategies, and test-taking. Additionally, there are a variety of webinars available on-demand.

UUÖ±²¥ Writing Centre

The UUÖ±²¥ Writing Centre offers a variety of courses and workshops to help improve your writing skills. Within the UUÖ±²¥ Writing Centre, Graphos offers different ways for graduate students to become more efficient, precise, and effective scholarly communicators. The services offered by Graphos are designed to address three focal points of the graduate experience: research, funding, and publication. The services include: 

  • 1-credit courses that complement your degree program, including courses for students who are new to academic communication in English. 

  • Workshops that tackle key writing topics in a hands-on format that can apply to your seminar papers, conference talks, or fellowship proposals. 

  • Peer Fellowship Writing Groups that provide feedback and support during the fellowship writing process and provide a safe space to sharpen arguments and structure ideas. 

  • Writing Commons, a space in which Graphos creates the right conditions for you to write productively during thesis retreats and other events.
